A Little Life Update: We Moved!!!

Back in 2021, when Ryan and I were dating, we wanted to visit somewhere we'd potentially want to move to in the future. We researched best places to live in your 20s and Austin came up. So we booked a flight and went for a week to see how we'd like it.
We tried different restaurants & bars, went to Lady Bird Lake, went to a rodeo, etc...
We left not loving it to be honest...
We didn't end up moving there and instead, a year later, we moved to San Antonio to work for a solar company along with my brother and two friends. We drove over 24 hours all the way down to Texas, and made one stop in Nashville for a night.

On our roadtrip to Texas
I don't suggest moving into an apartment without seeing it in person first. Lesson learned haha. I didn't even feel safe enough to walk around by myself. We like to joke around and call our time in San Antonio the "dark ages."
San Antonio, TX
After months of living there, the company wanted us to move to a small city in West Texas called Abilene. I was so relieved. So, we packed everything up and moved into a house in Abilene.
I loved it there at first. But, it's definitely not a place to live in your 20s (in my opinion) especially if you didn't grow up there. There was like basically nothing to do. I also probably didn't put in as much effort as I should have because in the back of my mind I knew we were there temporarily.
We stopped working for the solar company last year, and started our own business. We knew it was kind of a dead end and we didn't want to stay in Abilene. So, my husband started applying for jobs. The company he wanted to work for just so happened to be in Austin!

The next couple weeks were chaoticccc!! My brother, our friend, and I flew down to Miami for two weeks to work with my dad. It was very random.
Do you think Ryan packed anything when I was gone? Hahah absolutely not.
When I got home we had under two weeks to pack everything up, deep clean the house, and find an apartment in Austin.
I say it was chaotic like it was a bad thing, and don't get me wrong I was definitely stressed, but I kind of thrive on chaos. We found a one bedroom apartment in East Austin, signed the lease, and packed up our U-Haul to drive 4 hours from Abilene to Austin.

Last week, I spent hours unpacking because I can't stand the mess!! I don't know why exactly but, whenever we move I get so emotional. I've been looking forward to moving to Austin for so long, but the transition can honestly be a struggle. I probably cried like 6 times our first week here haha. You don't know how to get anywhere and you're unpacking so everything is a mess. It's like a homesick feeling. But, now that we are getting settled in I feel so much better already. I'm just currently looking for a new job (stressful), while still building my social media accounts.
My social life the past couple years has been pretty non existent (aside from when we go back home.) I'm just so excited to meet new people and put myself out there. I'm an extrovert so I need to be busy and be around people. Austin is the perfect place for that. I'm also excited to get into a good routine here because my habits have been so out of whack.
This was our first full weekend here and it was also my birthday. Two of my best friends live here so we spent the weekend together doing all of our favorite things. Lots of coffee, pickle ball, cold plunge & sauna, brunch, & amazing food!!!

I love a new chapter !!!
Thanks for reading!!! <333
